Brotherton, Burton leave marks on program record books
(ST. LEON, Ind.) -- Two East Central football players had record-setting career accomplishments during the sectional win against Shelbyville Friday.
Senior quarterback Cole Burton broke the record for the most passing touchdowns in school history. The previous record was 56 and Burton threw for four touchdowns Friday to surpass the record. He now has 59 passing TD's during his career.
Wide receiver Ryan Brotherton also set a school record for the most receiving touchdowns in program history. The Western Michigan commit caught two TD passes Friday which surpassed the school record of 28 which had stood since 2001.
The Trojans will travel to Martinsville this coming Friday. Kickoff will be 7:30 p.m. and presale tickets are available at the East Central athletic office starting Tuesday through Friday morning.
