Event features tons of activities for kids
(COLUMBUS, Ind.) – Loved ones of a Bartholomew County girl have organized a carnival-style event for kids on Sunday, August 25.
2-year-old Emma Grace Sweet drowned in the White River in Bartholomew County in 2021.
The death was ruled a homicide and her father was sentenced for Neglect of a Dependent and sentenced to 40 years in prison this past June.
Emma enjoyed competing in local, state and national pageants where she won the Baby Miss Bartholomew County 2021 and was the Tiny Miss Bartholomew County prior to her passing.
The event called Emma’s Day is to celebrate her upcoming birthday. There will be carnival games, prizes, a bounce house, live auction, magic show face painting, balloon art, snow cones and much more.
It takes place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bartholomew County Fairgrounds Community Building which is located at 750 W. 200 South in Columbus.
There will also be a Butterfly release in honor of Emma at 5 p.m. during the event.
