FC Humane Society volunteers helped animals in 2023

The humane society adopted close to 200 pets last year

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- Volunteers at the Franklin County Humane Society helped pets get adopted, rescued, neutered and vaccinated last year.

Thee shelter is sharing data which reveals nearly 200 animals were adopted into loving homes in 2023.

More than half of those were cats and kittens that were taken by the Humane Society's rescue partners and then adopted.

Volunteers also spayed and neutered over 800 cats and kittens in Franklin County. They also vaccinated more than 250 animals at their clinics.

The humane society also distributed hundreds of pounds of dog and cat food to needy families, and gave out hundreds of dollars for emergency veterinary funding to owners who needed a little extra help.

"ALL of this was accomplished through volunteer power and donations. We receive no government funding. We appreciate all of the support, shares, adopters, donations and volunteer hours that went into making a great 2023 year," the humane society said.

The program is seeking additional volunteers and you can learn more by clicking here.
