FC senior Mears to play college basketball

Mears will take her talents to a Kentucky university

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) -- Franklin County senior Nicole Mears has committed to play basketball at Transylvania University.

The Wildcats power forward has average just above 19 points per game this season and has helped lead the team to a strong start with a 6-2 record this year.

"Thank you to my family for always supporting me through everything especially my parents who always pushed me to be the best that I could be. I would also like to thank all of my coaches that I have had for helping me to be the player that I am today," Mears said.

Transylvania University is located in Lexington, Kentucky.
