(AURORA, Ind.) – Two local fire departments are helping to keep the grass green during the extreme heat at South Dearborn High School.
Hogan Township volunteers along with Aurora firefighters stopped by on Tuesday to spray water on the varsity soccer field.
It is much needed as the school’s water wheel is in need of repair.
The firefighters and some trainees dropped approximately 20,000 gallons of water on the field.
“Despite the extreme weather this week, we expect the pitch to be green and ready for the coming weeks,” said South Dearborn athletic director Ryan Walston.
