(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – On the first rainy day we’ve had in ages, Brother George Kranock stands at the corner of Main and Broadway in downtown Greensburg encouraging people to “Honk for Jesus”.
His RV is parked just a hundred feet away and his plan is to take a nap and be back at the corner when the heaviest traffic happens later today.
Brother George makes his pilgrimage north from Lakeland Florida twice a year and always takes a different route. He doesn’t head back to Florida until he’s reached the Canadian border at Peace Bridge in Buffalo, New York.
Originally from Western New York, this 80 year old road warrior says he didn’t find Jesus until he was 40.
He reports that he had everything anyone could want but he was miserable. Now, he wants to make sure he spreads the news and he says that he feels when people are honking in support of his sign, it is showing those non-honkers that there are believers and their honks are a testimony for Christ.
Quoting the bible, he says he is going forth and trying to make disciples. He’s a happy man doing what he feels he is called to do.
It’s a great day when you hear happy honking instead of impatient honking going on!
