Former Madison SRO accused of child sex-related crimes

ISP investigation began in August

(MADISON, Ind.) -- A former school resource officer is accused of sexual misconduct with a student.

63-year-old Timothy Armstrong was a school resource officer for the Madison Consolidated School District when the alleged crimes occurred between April and August of 2022.

Indiana State Troopers launched an investigation into Armstrong after he was alleged to have inappropriate communication with a juvenile male student on multiple occasions.

Armstrong was arrested Thursday on charges of Attempted Child Seduction, Attempted Promotion of Child Sexual Trafficking, Vicarious Sexual Gratification, Child Solicitation, Attempted Child Exploitation, Official Misconduct and Inappropriate Communication with a Child

He was transported to the Jennings County Jail where he was incarcerated pending an initial appearance in court. A Jackson County prosecutor has been assigned to the case.
