Franklin County Expo Hall grand opening July 3

Available for use year-round

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – The Franklin County Fairgrounds has a new Expo Hall that will be available for use all year.

The $1.6M building is near completion and a grand opening ceremony will be held on July 3.

The new exhibit hall will be an 84' x 160' indoor facility that will go beyond the scope of 4-H week. It will provide seating for up to 800 people and there are some weddings that have already been scheduled later this year.

It will also be available for family and class reunions and other events. In addition to the large seating area, there is also a concession stand and state-of-the-art restrooms. The building was designed to be added on to in the future.

Franklin County Fair Board member Brian Baxter says this project was made possible by the generosity of local businesses, organizations and community members. Those who have given a significant contribution are recognized on plaques in the banquet area. You will also see bricks on the exterior and interior of the building.

“We’ve opened up a major opportunity to bring tourism and unique types of events to the Brookville area,” Baxter told The 812.

The project is still in need of about $40,000 in funding. You can donate by reaching out to Baxter at bbaxter@zimmertractor.com or any Franklin County 4-H Board member.
