Fundraiser started by local restaurant owner
(VERSAILLES, Ind.) -- A fundraiser has been launched for a Moores Hill family after their twin girls were born premature last month.
Kaiyah and Kira were born at 26 weeks, each weighing one pound and twelve ounces.
Both girls were sent to a NICU in Cincinnati and Kira was later transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital due to further complications.
They are the daughters of Hannah Martin and Joseph MacVey.
Hannah is a long-time employee at Crossroads Family Restaurant in Versailles.
The owner of the restaurant, Kim Evans, launched a GoFundMe to help the family during this challenging time.
Evans says the parents are traveling from Moores Hill to Cincinnati everyday.
"Any mom and father would do the same, but everybody needs a little help sometimes. This is the time that Hannah and Joey need our help. With the travel to and from Cincinnati every day for the next several months they need our help with gas, food and monthly bills," Evans said.
