Fundraiser launched for Aurora officer after tragic crash

Ask for the "Jarrod Nichols Benefit Account" at Civista Bank

(MILAN, Ind.) -- A benefit account has been established to assist the family of Jarrod Nichols following a crash in Northern Indiana on Sunday.

Nichols and his girlfriend, Riley Duerstock, were traveling in Marshall County when they were involved in a two-car crash. Duerstock passed away from her injuries.

Investigators say the driver of the other vehicle may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Nichols remains hospitalized and will likely face months of recovery.

Nichols is an Aurora police officer who was off-duty at the time of the crash. He is a 2017 Milan High School graduate and has served in the Indiana National Guard for six years.

The benefit account is available at all Civista Bank locations in Southeast Indiana.

Ask for the "Jarrod Nichols Benefit Account" at Civista to make a direct donation to help support him. Every donation will be given directly to the family.
