Funeral arrangements made for Shelby Co. first grader

Fundraiser is ongoing

(FAIRLAND, Ind.) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for the young boy killed in a crash in Shelby County.


6-year-old James Hodges passed away after a crash in the area of State Road 44 and County Road 44 East on Saturday.


James was a first grader at Triton Central Elementary and had a heart full of gold. 


He enjoyed participating in baseball, Good News and Cub Scouts. He loved to bowl, swim, bike, play with dinosaurs and board games. James also loved to play with cars, Nerf guns and enjoyed being outdoors,” his family said, 


Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. at Freeman Funeral Home in Shelbyville on Thursday.


Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday.
