Gallery: Friendship firefighters extinguish car fire

(DILLSBORO, Ind.) -- Volunteer firefighters were called to a report of a car fire on Farmers Retreat Road Saturday morning.

Friendship firefighters are crediting the quick actions of the driver during the incident.

"A shout out to the owner who had the presence of mind to tow the vehicle away from other cars and the residence when he determined he could not extinguish the blaze. This could have been a lot worse," the department said.

Friendship was assisted by a Dillsboro volunteer firefighter along with the Dearborn County Sherriff's Department and Aurora Emergency Rescue.
