Program is parents struggling to buy gifts for kids this year
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- Lifeline Wesleyan Church in Greensburg will give back to children in the community during the holiday season.
The church will host a free toy give-away from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 16.
This program is for parents and guardians who need extra help to provide presents for children. Organizers ask that children do not attend the give-away.
"Parents can shop for their children up to age 12 and we do ask that no children come with their parents this is time for the parents to get gifts that are not wrapped for their children for Christmas," organizer Renee Rankin said.
The program served 227 children last year and organizers hope to impact 360 kids this Christmas.
The brand new toys are made possible by donations from the businesses and good Samaritans in the community.
"I just want to take a minute to list these businesses and individuals that have donated so far because it is truly a blessing that we have gotten these donations this year! Verizon, OSL, OMNI Source, KN Platech, American Legion, Human Services, Cheer Fund, Burney Baptist Church, Bob Rankin, Teresa Preble and everyone at Lifeline Wesleyan," Rankin said. "This is just a few of the businesses and people that have donated items. There are always items donated from individuals just dropping items off at the church."
Lifeline Wesleyan Church is located at 2002 Moscow Road in Greensburg
