Barktoberfest donates to local animal shelter
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A unique festival that took place last fall in Greensburg is once again giving back to others.
Organizers held the inaugural Barktoberfest in October which was an event for dogs and pet owners. It featured dog trainings, agility demonstrations, costume contests,, pet adoptions, food trucks and more.
Adrian Smith, known as the "Color King" from ABC's Pooch Perfect, also made an appearance.
The event was inspired by 21-year-old Colleen Bray who came up with the idea. Sadly, Bray passed away unexpectedly from a car accident in 2022.
Her family and friends decided to step up and make Colleen’s vision of Barktoberfest come to life.
Barktoberfest is now using some of the funds from the event to benefit the Greensburg- Decatur County Animal Shelter.
They donated $6,000 for a new light and a new surgical table.
