(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A group of Greensburg residents continued their Memorial Day tradition by waving American flags on an I-74 overpass on Monday.
Interstate travelers honked their horns to show support as the American flags were displayed on the Moscow Road bridge.
This initiative began several years by Robin Meyer, of Greensburg, who would wave the flag by himself on Memorial Day.
His daughter decided to surprise him one year by inviting some friends and family to join him. It has now grown to welcome anyone who would like to participate.
There were than 70 participants Monday and the group will also wave the flags on July 4, September 11 and Veteran’s Day.
Meyer hopes more people get involved and have every Decatur County overpass waving American flags next Memorial Day.
