The 812's Ella Koors reports from Greensburg High School
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- The community was invited to celebrate the start of the winter sports season in Greensburg on Saturday.
The 812's Ella Koors attended the event which put a spotlight on the basketball, wrestling, swimming and cheerleading teams.
Both basketball teams tell Koors that they're excited for the season.
"We're going to have a really good season, I hope, and I'm looking forward to it," said junior girls player Emma McQueen.
"I think that we're going to exceed a lot of expectations this year. I think that we will be a very good Sectional opponent and we could possibly go further, which is our ultimate goal," said boys basketball player Addison Barnes-Petit.
Koors also spoke with new Pirates head coach Shawn Busick who is bringing over 30 years of basketball experience to Greensburg.
Busick previously coached at Bellmont, Zionsville and Traders Point Christian with an overall record of 436-250.
"We've got some great kids, and I'm really excited about the community we have here that is wonderful, and they certainly love basketball," Busick said.
