Rotary honors history teacher with award
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- Greensburg history teacher John Pratt was presented with an award at the Greensburg Rotary Club annual dinner.
Pratt was given the Paul Harris Fellow Community Award for the impact he has made on students and the community.
“This means the world to me,” Pratt told Rotarians and their guest in attendance. “It has been an honor and pleasure to bring an amazing event like Chautauqua to the community.”
The longtime Greensburg educator earned the award for his contributions to Decatur County and of course, the Chautauqua which he founded.
"John has created lasting memories for many and has earned his rightful place as a role model and permanent fixture of Decatur County," said Greenburg Rotary member Jeff Emsweller.
The Greensburg Rotary Club meets at the Branch Coffee House and Gathering Place in
downtown Greensburg at 12 p.m. on Mondays and welcomes new members.
