Radio station will remain in operation at 1330 AM/ 104.3FM
(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- Greensburg radio station WTRE is selling one of their radio signals to Greensburg Community Schools.
The station owns multiple frequencies and it is only selling the license for WEGT 89.9 FM.
WTRE does not use that 89.9 frequency as their 1330 AM and 104.3 FM signals will remain operational.
The Greensburg School Board recently approved the purchase of the frequency for $65,000, the Greensburg Daily News reported.
This new frequency will allow the school to expand their TV/ radio program for high school students. The school could possibly create a 24/7 broadcast on 89.9.
Superintendent Tom Hunter says he and school officials will travel to other school district's who have similar initiatives to develop the best program for the students.
