Greensburg woman killed, 2 others hurt in crash 

Happened in Bartholomew County

(COLUMBUS, Ind.) – A Greensburg woman was killed and two others were seriously hurt in a crash in Bartholomew County on Tuesday afternoon. 


The crash happened southeast of Columbus at the intersection of County Roads East 100 South and South 525 East. 


47-year-old Christopher Harris and 51-year-old Tonya Whiteside, both of Greensburg, had to be extricated from their Impala vehicle. 


Whiteside was given aid however was pronounced dead at the scene. Harris was flown to an Indianapolis hospital with severe injuries. 


The driver of the pickup, 21-year-old Tyler Myers, of Bedford, was also flown to a hospital with significant injuries. 


Investigators believe the Impala disregarded a stop sign which resulted in the collision. 


Neither drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor as the crash remains under investigation by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.

apparently not the first time someone has died at that intersection. google map shows a wooden cross on the side of the road. maybe time for a 4 way stop.
