Five departments worked the overnight fire
(PIERCEVILLE, Ind.) – Volunteer firefighters responded to a house fire in the Pierceville area early Wednesday morning.
The call came around 2:45 a.m. and crews responded to a home on Old Mill Road.
Departments that responded were Milan, Delaware, Sunman, Napoleon and Dillsboro.
Crews were on the scene for nearly seven hours battling the blaze and putting out hot spots.
There were people living in the house who have been displayed.
Firefighters confirmed that nobody was hurt, however, the house is deemed a loss.
First responders say the response to his overnight fire, on a cold October morning, shows the dedication that exists in our local fire departments.
“They ask for nothing. They work tirelessly, cold, and hungry, doing what they can to help you. They pour their hearts and souls into every action they take. Volunteers make the difference, not just the ones in our town but also in the communities surrounding us,” the Milan Volunteer Fire Department said.
Milan firefighters are also thanking Jeff Meinders and Todd Delap for assisting crews with some heavy lifting, as well as the Reservation Restaurant for providing food and coffee.
