(FRIENDSHIP, Ind) -- A hunter suffered serious injuries after falling from a tree stand near Friendship Saturday.
The accident happened around 4 p.m. at a property on South County Road 575 East.
Friendship volunteer firefighrers responded to the emergency and say the hunter was carried 200 yards to an awaiting ambulance.
The hunter was later flown to a Cincinnati hospital with what firefighters say are significant injuries.
Friendship Fire was assisted on scene by Ripley County EMS and PHI Air Medical from Madison.
Saturday was the opening day of firearms deer season in Indiana.
