The 5K will be held in Lawrenceburg
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- The Archeological Research Institute is welcoming runners and walkers for a unique race.
The ARI Oxbow Adventure Trek takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Guard Archeological Preserve and the Oxbow in Lawrenceburg.
This 5k style run/walk is free unless you want to donate to receive a t-shirt.
Embark on a trek through the Oxbow property, where you will be able to see nature and enjoy the wildlife. The trek ends at the Guard Archaeological Preserve where you will be able to enjoy food, raffles, and an open-house of all that ARI has to offer," organizers said.
"Experience our current open excavation, learn to throw an atlatl, and take an augmented reality tour through the roughly 1000-year-old Guard Site!"
Parking will be at 351 E. Eads Parkway with a shuttle going to the starting line every 30 minutes. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
