School Board ratifies new teacher contract
(OSGOOD, Ind.) -- The average Jac-Cen-Del teacher will have a salary increase of 15 percent over the next two years.
It is part of a new teacher contract the school board approved in November.
Superintendent Sam Melton says the substantial increases will make Jac-Cen-Del positions competitive with surrounding schools.
Teachers will not only experience a salary bump but will also see a 12 percent increase in corporation contributions to health care, and a 15 percent hike in extracurricular activity stipends.
“The goal of Jac-Cen-Del Community Schools is to be a leader in teacher pay and retention and this first step will go a long way in accomplishing this goal,” Melton said. “I also want to thank the Jac-Cen-Del School Board and the Jac-Cen-Del Educators Association for their work on this two-year contract."
