Happened Sunday morning
(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A Jennings County deputy was patrolling when he noticed a person that was believed to have a warrant.
The sheriff’s office identified that person as 31-year-old Billy Erwin, of North Vernon, and the deputy spotted him in a driveway on County Road 500 South around 8 a.m. Sunday.
Police say K-9 Creed gave a positive alert to the odor of drugs in the car which led to a search of the vehicle.
According to the sheriff’s office, the search led to the discovery of 11 Grams of Fentanyl, over 50 syringes, and other evidence of the distribution of Fentanyl.
Erwin was taken to the Jennings County jail on preliminary charges of Dealing in a Narcotic Drug, Possession of a Narcotic Drug 10 or more grams, Possession of a Syringe, and a felony warrant out of Jackson County.
