"It's fun and something different!"
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Residents of a nursing home in Lawrenceburg had an opportunity to celebrate like teenagers on Friday.
Ridgewood Health Campus held ‘senior’ prom and the residents dressed up, received a corsage, listened to music and enjoyed drinks and food.
“It’s been kind of an all day event. They got their hair done, they got their makeup done and picked out their prom dress for the event,” said Therapy Program Director Jennifer Coy.
For Ridgewood resident Adanna Haslett, the last time she experienced prom was when she was a high school senior in 1966.
“It’s fun dressing up and we may have went a bit extreme on the makeup,” Haslett laughed. “It has been a lot of fun and something different.
The prom was held as part of National Senior Health and Wellness Day. The Lawrenceburg campus has been awarded five times as the best Ridgewood campus for their some of their health and wellness initiatives.
