Lawrenceburg opens emergency cooling center

Located at Lawrenceburg Boy Scout Cabin

(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- The City of Lawrenceburg is providing an Emergency Cooling Center in response to the heat advisory.


Anyone can go to the Lawrenceburg Boy Scout Cabin at 461 West High Street beginning today.


The cooling center will be open through next Monday.


Individuals or families in need will have access to a monitored airconditioned shelter, cots, blankets and water.

Following the 7-day community response period, city officials will re-evaluate the need to continue providing an available Emergency Cooling Center.
