Friendship firefighters responded to the incident
(FRIENDSHIP, Ind.) -- The storms that moved through Southeast Indiana Tuesday brought plenty of lightning.
One lightning strike cause a tree fire in Ripley County around 9:30 p.m.
Friendship volunteer firefighters responded to the fire which was in the 16000 block of Cutter Road.
"Upon arrival, it appeared that lightning struck the tree which started the fire in the hollow portion of the trunk," Friendship firefighters said.
They extinguished the fire using approximately 1000 gallons of water. Three different fire units responded to the incident.
