Lightning strike at Fayette Co. Fair sends person to hospital

Happened a few hours ago

(CONNERSVILLE, Ind.) – First responders were dispatched to the Fayette County Fair for a person that was possibly struck by lightning on Thursday night.

The 812 spoke with officials who say one person was transported to the hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

That person’s current condition is not fully known by the official we spoke with.

Fayette County dispatchers also told us that the Connersville Mayor’s office will provide more information tomorrow.

This is a developing story and we will provide more updates when made available.

Lightning was moving through the Fayette and Rush county area tonight and our weather partner, Chad Gutzwiller/ Weather Wave 2.0, says lightning can make a strike from ten miles away.
