(TERRE HAUTE, Ind.) -- A local Special Olympic powerlifting team dominated the competition at the Special Olympics Summer Games in Terre Haute Saturday.
The Special Olympics of Ripley, Ohio, Dearborn (ROD) earned 18 gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
Ripley County native David Paul is also the top bench presser in all weight divisions with a 259 pound bench press.
"Special thanks to Tyson Activity Center for the use of your facility for our practices. Forever grateful each and every year," said David's father Tim.
The ROD team sent a total of 64 athletes, 12 unified partners, 14 coaches and 15 team members to the Indiana Summer Games.
