South Dearborn Community School Corporation's elementary school recognized for inspiring students to explore STEM-related careers
(Aurora, Indiana) -- Manchester Elementary School is getting national recognition for improving student access, engagement, and achievement.
The elementary school is being named a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School. Manchester is one of only 492 schools in the United States to receive the award.
To be eligible for the designation, Manchester Elementary School had to have more than 75 percent of the student body participating in the program and had to offer at least one PLTW Launch module at each grade level during the 2021-22 school year.
“We are pleased to announce 100 percent of our student body participated in the program and were offered at least three PLTW Launch modules at each grade level during the 2021 – 22 school year,” said Manchester Elementary School Principal, Mrs. Bailey.
PLTW students engage in critical and creative thinking, build teamwork skills, and develop a passion for STEM-related subjects and careers such as math and science.
