Moorefield's long-time ice cream social is this weekend

64-year-old tradition in Switzerland County

(VEVAY, Ind.) -- The Moorefield Community Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate a longtime tradition this weekend.

It's their annual ice cream social which dates back to the summer of 1959.

The annual fundraiser serves as an opportunity for community members to gather for homemade ice cream while supporting volunteer firefighters.

The ice cream social is at the firehouse which is located at 8124 S.R. 129 in Vevay.

Moorefield volunteer firefighters serve the areas of Pleasant Township and Craig Township in Switzerland County.
