National Night Out in Greensburg Thursday

Police and fire demonstrations along with other activities

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) -- The community is encouraged to visit North Park for the extensive National Night Out program on Thursday.


Greensburg Police along with other first responder agencies will be serving food and conducting various demonstrations.


The Greensburg Fire Department will show the public how vehicle extrication in conducted when an accident occurs.


At 6:30 p.m., Greensburg officers will demonstrate the use of Bolowrap, a non-lethal device which allows police officers to restrain a non-compliant suspect with minimal risk of injury to the subject or the officer.


There will also be K9 demonstrations during the event before "lights and sirens" at 7:50 pm.


The event takes place from 5-8 p.m. at N. Carver Street in Greensburg.
