Popular festival takes place in downtown Rising Sun
(RISING SUN, Ind.) – One of Rising Sun’s most popular events of the year will take place this weekend.
The annual Navy Bean Festival features activities for the whole family and it is well worth the trip to Ohio County.
It kicks off Friday with rides, food and craft vendors, facepainting, a school art exhibit and live music.
The Rising Sun Church of Christ Worship Team will kick off the music with Nashville-based Kristine Kabbes & The Skalleywags who take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday.
Here’s what is happening Saturday:
The parade will take place at 10:30 a.m. with the rides, food and craft vendor areas opening at 11 a.m.
Some fun family activities include horse and carriage rides, a puppet show, magic show, foam party, open air photo booth, balloon artist, facepainting and more.
The Lions Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award will be announced at 3:45 p.m. Saturday
On the stage, music starts at 4 p.m. and will be performed by The Sweet Beats (A Beatles tribute band), with the Austin Tyler Lee Band and Zack Attack later in the night.
