Unveiled in Lawrenceburg on Saturday
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) -- Community members gathered at Lawrenceburg's Civic Park to celebrate a new mural Saturday.
The Southeast Indiana Musician's Association (SEIMA) cut the ribbon on their mural which pays homage to some of the area's biggest names in music while serving as an inspiration for future musicians.
The mural depicts musicians who have ties to the area including Lonnie Mack, Boys from Indiana, Jamey Johnson, Kristen Weber, Ric Wright, Nelson Elliott, Jimmy Thomas and more.
Thomas, along with Lonnie Mack's daughter was among those in attendance.
"We just want everybody to know about the rich heritage of music in our area, this is a mecca of music talent and we are honored to work with the City of Lawrenceburg to make this mural a reality," said local musician and SEIMA member Brian 'Biggin' Noble.
SEIMA is a non-profit that was founded in 2001 to honor the exemplary musicians who have resided, and performed music locally in southeastern Indiana.
