(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – The North Vernon Airport will be able to replace some equipment along the runway through a federal grant.
The Federal Aviation Administration was awarded $667K to the airport to allow them to replace runway lighting.
Officials say the lighting is over 40 years old and has led to increased maintenance costs.
The grant also includes a five percent state and local match.
Grants from the FAA are funded through passenger facilities charges and fees.
