Happened Tuesday night
(CROSS PLAINS, Ind.) – The National Weather Service says an EF1 tornado did touch down Tuesday night in Ohio County.
Meteorologists say it was on the ground between 5:52 p.m. and 5:57 p.m. along Aberdeen Road near Cross Plains. It had wind speeds approaching 100 miles per hour.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities as a result.
A garage was destroyed on the north side of Knigga Road, and a well-constructed barn on Aberdeen Road was completely destroyed, with much of the debris being lofted high into the trees behind the barn.
The barn that was destroyed belongs to an Amish family, who also had horses that were injured. There is a donation drive underway for that family right now.
