OA freshman nominated for Indy Star Player of the Week

(OLDENBURG, Ind.) -- A Oldenburg Academy soccer player is having quite the freshman season.

Claire Niese has 20 goals through eight games, putting her on track to break Oldenburg's single-season scoring record.

Niese, who has five assists, scored nine goals last week, with four against South Ripley, four against Rushville and a tally versus Heritage Christian.

She is one of 11 Indiana soccer players nominated for Indy Star Player of the Week. Click here to vote for Niese. The voting ends at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
