OA grad wins half marathon in Columbus

(COLUMBUS, Ind.) -- Batesville native Curt Eckstein won the half marathon race at the Columbus Mill Marathon on Saturday.

The Oldenburg graduate finished with a time of 1:03:59.

He told the Columbus Republic that it was a personal record time by 30 seconds, despite battling shin splints.

Earlier this year, he finished second at the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon in Indianapolis.

After winning state as a Twister in 2016, he went on to star for Purdue Track & Field.
