OA sophomore competing in Olympic Development event

One of 50 players in Midwest selected for team

(ROCKFORD, Ill.) – An Oldenburg Academy sophomore has earned a roster spot at an exclusive soccer invitational this week.

Madison Hamilton has been selected to participate in the US Youth Soccer Midwest Olympic Development Program Summer ID Event in Rockford, Illinois.

Hamilton is one of just 50 U16 female players in the Midwest selected to participate in the event.

She was the only one selected from Team Indiana and joins other players on the ODP U16 roster who are from Kansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The tournament she is participating in takes place from July 8-10.

Madison returns for her sophomore year at OA after a solid freshman varsity season. She had a 4.0 GPA last year and has been invited to celebrate elite college camps including Notre Dame, IU, Dartmouth and Alabama.

She also plays club soccer for FC Pride in Indianapolis.

Hamilton still has three more years of high school soccer ahead, but already has her sights set on playing for a Division 1 program.
