Officials: Person rescued after jumping from Carroll Cropper Bridge

Happened Friday morning

(PETERSBURG, KY.) – Lawrenceburg firefighters responded to a report of a person who had jumped from the Carrol Cropper bridge on Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 9 a.m. and the fire department launched their boat operations while police investigated by using a drone.

Other agencies from Northern Kentucky also assisted during the situation.

Lawrenceburg Fire Chief Johnnie Tremain said they were directed down the river after objects were found.

“The L.F.D. boat proceeded down river to identify additional objects spotted by nearby security cameras,” Tremain said.

Officials say they found the victim conscious and communicating. The person was brought onto the boat before being turned over to Lawrenceburg Paramedics.

The victim was later flown a Cincinnati hospital for undisclosed injuries.
