Organizations donate school supplies to Milan students

Nearly all supplies provided to Milan Elementary

(MILAN, Ind.) – Several local businesses are chipping in to help Milan Elementary students and their families. 

For the second straight year, students are having the majority of their school supplies donated to them. Supplies include notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders, glue sticks and more. 

The organizations that donated are The Sons of American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Milan VFW, American Legion, Milan Elementary PTO, Moving MES Forward, and WalMart in Aurora.  

The initiative was spearheaded by Milan Elementary Principal Travis Rohrig who says these businesses are helping with education by decreasing the financial burden on families. 

“We know that the economy has been tough on everybody, and I am so thankful that our community organizations stepped up once again to support our students, teachers, and families.” Rohrig said.
