Fundraiser nets $8,500 for school
(OSGOOD, Ind.) – CountryMark and Laughery Valley Ag approached Jac-Cen-Del Community Schools with a unique fundraising opportunity this past fall.
They offered one of the gas pumps at CountryMark in Osgood to be a Jac-Cen-Del themed pump from August through December.
For every gallon purchased on that pump, CountryMark and Laughery Valley Ag would donate 2.5 cents each to Jac-Cen-Del Schools.
“We’ve wanted to do some sort of fundraiser for a while and thought this could be a great one to try” stated Keith Moon with Laughery Valley Ag.
The school has just received a check for almost $8,500 from the fundraiser.
“I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to expect but I think once word got out, the community really helped push this fundraiser,” said Sam Melton, Superintendent at Jac-Cen-Del Schools.
During the fundraiser, a total of 169,763 gallons of gas were pumped on the JCD themed pump.
The money is to be split between the elementary and high school.
“I can’t thank CountryMark and Laughery Valley Ag enough for their generous donation,” said Sam Melton. “This will be put to good use for the students of Jac-Cen-Del.”
