Currently need less than $8K to meet goal
(OSGOOD, Ind.) – The Osgood Volunteer Fire Department is currently seeking donations to purchase much-needed equipment.
The fire department is currently using outdated Self-Contained Breathing Appartus’ (SCBA) which could pose a risk to firefighters.
“We currently need to purchase new SCBA equipment, which also includes a high-pressure air compressor used to fill the air tanks used by our firefighters,” the fire department said.
It comes at a cost of $200K to replace the outdated SCBA’s and the fire department is applying for grants and asking the Town of Osgood for additional help from the budget.
However, the fire department is also hoping the community can provide assistance in the form of donations.
“We are soliciting additional donations from our residents and businesses to fund this project, so that we may continue to provide you with the best protections possible if you are ever in need of our services,” the department added. “If we are unsuccessful in our fundraising efforts we will have to rely on leasing and/or loan options, which will ultimately cost the department more money.”
They are currently $7,600 short of reaching their goal. If you would like to help out, you can drop off donations at the firehouse or any of the department’s members. You can also get more information by clicking here.
