Passenger train stop in Laurel will help fire department

The Sunset Express Train will be coming from Connersville

(LAUREL, Ind.) -- The Whitewater Valley Railroad will bring a sold-out passenger train to Laurel on Saturday night.

The Sunset Express Train will depart from Connersville at 6 p.m. to travel to Laurel.

When they arrive, passengers will walk to the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department for a catered meal hosted by the department.

Volunteer firefighters will serve a buffet-style dinner that includes grilled garlic-herb chicken, pulled pork and chocolate eclairs.

The fire department will receive a portion of the proceeds from the train trip because of their assistance.

Tickets to board the train were $52 and every seat has already been sold.
