Investigation began in February
(MADISON, Ind.) - Authorities have arrested nearly two dozen people after a months-long drug investigation in Jefferson County.
The investigation was called “Operation Iceberg” and it centered around methamphetamine and cocaine.
Police say the investigation began in February after they learned Christoper Dorten was a ‘major supplier of methamphetamine’ in Jefferson County.
“Throughout the investigation, officers were able to confirm that Dorten made at least 65 trips to Louisville, where he obtained meth and cocaine from Darren Richardson, also known as Anthony Richardson,” Jefferson County Prosecutor David Sutter said.
Dorten was arrested on August 15 and Richardson was apprehended the following day, both on charges related to dealing meth.
Prosecutors say the investigation led police to identifying others who are allegedly involved in supplying illegal narcotics.
Police arrested 22 people on Wednesday and the majority of them are from Jefferson County.
Gregory Todd Griffin, of Versailles, and Mandy Demaree, of Vevay, were among those arrested.
