Officer-involved incident happened Saturday morning
(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – Indiana State Troopers have identified the person who was shot-and-killed at Hollywood Casino early Saturday morning.
The man has been identified as 45-year-old Milo Kirsch of Avon, Indiana.
Lawrenceburg police officers were called to the casino due to a report of a man acting erratic and had allegedly chased a woman with a knife, causing minor injuries.
Officers arrived and learned that Kirsh was firing a gun on the fourth floor of the casino, troopers said.
“Three officers went to the fourth floor where they quickly located Kirsh in the hallway. An officer gave Kirsh orders to drop the handgun he was holding. The evidence indicates that Kirsh began shooting with the officers returning fire,” ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said.
Kirsh was struck and died at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained. None of the officers were injured.
Indiana State Police were asked to conduct an investigation into the incident.
