Authorities say Bailey had a warrant for aggravated use of a firearm
(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- An Illinois man wanted on firearm charges was arrested after a police pursuit Thursday morning.
According to the Indiana State Police, a trooper stopped a vehicle on State Road 129 south of Batesville around 10 a.m. today. It was driven by 22-year-old Deondrik Bailey of Illinois, police said.
Authorities say Bailey had a warrant for aggravated use of a firearm in Illinois.
During the stop, Bailey allegedly drove off at a high rate of speed.
The pursuit went from S.R. 129 before ending on County Road 400 East where the suspect drove into a cornfield before crashing into a fallen tree, police said.
Bailey was apprehended after running away and hiding behind a home.
