RCCF to host annual Day of Giving on November 1

Updated: Oct 23

Opportunity to support nonprofits in a big way

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – The Ripley County Community Foundation will host the annual Day of Giving from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, November 1.

It’s an opportunity to support local nonprofits through the matching funds program.

On the Day of Giving, every dollar donated to an endowment fund will be eligible to receive a match of $1 for every $2 donated, not to exceed $5,000 per fund.

Matching funds may be placed into the endowed fund of the donor’s choice and will be committed on a first come, first served basis.

“This means that your generous gift will go twice as far in supporting the causes you care about. Whether you choose to give in honor of a loved one, in memory of a friend, or simply support your favorite cause or nonprofit organization, your gift makes a real difference,” organizers said.

In addition to a matching gift program, the community foundation will use the Day of Giving as an opportunity to Give Where It Lives. First, throughout the course of the day, the community foundation will award $50,000 in grants to local nonprofits. Grants to local nonprofits play a crucial role in the fabric and vitality of a community. They help address critical needs, promote innovation, strengthen connections, and support economic growth, ultimately improving the quality of life for all residents.

Second, the community foundation is hosting a supply drive for the benefit of Ripley County Schools’ Hygiene Closets. These closets provide essential hygiene items to students in need, helping them to stay healthy and focused in school. By donating supplies, you will not only be making a difference in the lives of local students, but will be entered into our drawing for a $500 grant, to a qualified charity of your choice! The items most in need are:

  • Feminine Products

  • Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash / Soap, Face Wash

  • Deodorant, Body Spray, Dry Shampoo, Body Lotion

  • Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Chapstick, Brushes / Combs, Fingernail Clippers

  • Hair Ties

  • Baby Wipes

  • New Socks

The Ripley County Community Foundation encourages you to visit their office at 13 E. George Street, Suite B, in Batesville, to drop off supplies for the hygiene closets
