Regionals bring two heartbreaks, one win Friday

Bulldogs, Chargers lose while EC heads to Semi-State

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- Longtime Batesville football fans likely recall the 2000's when Heritage Hills was the end of the road for several seasons for the Bulldogs.

Back then, the Heritage Hills team was led by future NFL quarterback Jay Cutler.

History unfortunately repeated itself Friday when the Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker 24-21.

North Decatur was coming off their best season in school history when they made it to the Semi-State last season.

The team started off slow this year but began a vast improvement that led to a second-straight Sectional Championship.

The Chargers traveled to Sheridan on Friday and it was a nailbiter. They fell just short by losing 24-20 to bring the season to an end.

We hope to see the many more "Chargers in the Barn" in the coming years.

Trojans claim Regional Championship in easy fashion

East Central made their longest trip of the season to visit Evansville Memorial on Friday.

The Trojans offense got off to a hot start with two Josh Ringer touchdowns plus a 35-yard TD pass from QB Cole Burton to Ryan Brotherton to make it 21-0 in the first quarter.

The team never looked back as they cruised past Evansville 47-7 to claim the Regional Championship.

EC will host New Palestine in St. Leon next Friday with a second-straight trip to the State Championship on the line.
