Ripley Co. Lilly Scholarship finalists named

Winner will be announced later this year

(BATESVILLE, Ind.) -- Five finalists have been named for the Ripley County Lilly Scholarship.


Mary Blankman, Haille Grooms, Elena Kuisel, Claire Saner, and Madison Wanstrath were selected from 50 applicants.


Blankman is an East Central senior and Grooms, Saner, Kuisel and Wanstrath are seniors at Batesville.


The recipient will receive full-tuition for four years to an Indiana college plus a $900 per year book stipend.  


The other four finalists will each receive a $2,000 scholarship from the Ripley County Community Foundation for their freshman year.


"We are delighted with this year’s Lilly Endowment Community Foundation Scholarship finalists. Each of the finalists demonstrated immense passion and potential,” noted Ripley County Community Foundation Executive Director Amy Streator.


Scores are now sent to the Independent Colleges of Indiana to formally determine a winner.
